Miguel Jorrín was born in Havana, Cuba on May 10, 1902. He became a U.S. citizen in May, 1949. Jorrín is considered a pioneer scholar in the study of Latin American political thought and ideology. His publications reflect extensive research on the colonial background and political situation of all Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking nations in Latin America.
